Rising Australian tennis talent Alex de Minaur has defeated some of the biggest names in the sport lately, but he was off the court when he came under the biggest pressure he has faced all summer.
De Minaur, 24, ended Novak Djokovic's 43-match winning streak at the United Cup and also defeated American star and world number 10 Taylor Fritz.
However, there are questions about when he will take over his relationship with girlfriend and British tennis star Katie Boulter, 27, to the next level stopped the Australian star in his tracks.
De Minaur and Boulter met on the tournament circuit and kept things casual at first until a coffee date three years ago changed everything.

Comedian Ash Williams, affiliated with 'The ATP Podcast', asked the big question on Wednesday evening during a press conference at Minaur.
He asked, “Are we going to get Katie proposed after the AO (Australian Open)?”
'Jesus. I am putting myself to the test here,' replied De Minaur.
'Yes, that is not yet on the agenda. Don't rule it out. For the time being I will try to concentrate on playing tennis and then we will think about the activities outside the court.'
Williams persisted and asked, “If you win the AO?”
“It wouldn't be a bad way to celebrate, let's just say,” de Minaur replied.
De Minaur is currently at the peak of his powers as his form reaches a purple patch in time for the Australian Open starting on January 14.

His impressive 6-4, 6-4 victory over Djokovic in the United Cup was telling, despite Djokovic expressing complaints about a wrist injury both during and after the match.
“Novak is an incredible competitor and what he has done for the sport is pretty special. It feels surreal, amazing, and I'm really happy to be doing it here in Perth,” de Minaur said.
“When you go up against Novak, you have to enjoy it and back yourself, and whatever happens, keep fighting until the end. Today was my day and I'm happy that I was able to get the victory.'
Meanwhile, Australian wildcard Arina Rodionova's brilliant run came to a halt against 16-year-old Russian sensation Mirra Andreeva.
The teenager, already ranked number 43 in the world, needed just 64 minutes in a 6-1 6-1 win that denied 34-year-old Rodionova entry into the world's top 100 for the first time.
Rodionova had defeated former Australian Open champion Sofia Kenin to reach the third round in Brisbane.
She won seven ITF titles in 2023 to become Australia's highest-ranked woman, but needs a wildcard to gain entry to this month's Australian Open.
Andreeva will meet 19-year-old Linda Noskova for a place in the last four after the Czech talent, who emerged in Australia a year ago, defeated Argentina's Julia Riera in three sets.
