Alejandro Garnacho has been criticized by the Spanish press following Manchester United’s 2-1 draw against Barcelona after he imitated the signature glasses celebration of an injured Pedri at full time.
The 18-year-old was a second-half substitute in the match at Old Trafford on Thursday in a dramatic game that saw the Red Devils eliminate the Spanish giants from the Europa League.
He had a positive impact on the game as United came from 1-0 down on the night to win 2-1 and 4-3 on aggregate.
However, after full-time, he performed Barca star Pedri’s iconic celebration of creating glasses with his hands on his face, before posting an image of the mockery on Instagram with the caption: “Great team advanced to the next round”.
Pedri missed the match through injury, with Barca boss Xavi suggesting afterward that the match would have gone differently if he had been fit.

It’s not the first time the celebration has been mocked, as Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich did the same thing earlier this season.
Once rivals at elite level, Bayern beat the LaLiga leaders 3-0 in the Champions League group stage in October and Kimmich pulled off the taunt full-time.
Meanwhile, United will now face another Spanish team in the next round at Real Betis after the draw was completed on Friday.
The English team Arsenal, which leads the Premier League, faced Sporting.
