Alejandro Garnacho is being monitored by Atletico Madrid amid uncertainty over his role under new manager Ruben Amorim at Manchester United, according to reports.
The Argentine forward – along with Carrington graduate Marcus Rashford – was one of two big Red Devils stars dropped by the head coach ahead of the must-win Manchester derby on Sunday.
Amorim’s decision ultimately paid off as Man United stole a march on their crisis-hit neighbors Man City to take all three points at the Etihad.
It was another rising star, Amad Diallo, whose extra-time goal helped the visitors over the line as they ran out 2-1 winners.
Captain Bruno Fernandes had leveled the score for the first time late in the second half after Josko Gvardiol had given Pep Guardiola’s side the lead.
But if Garnacho does not find his way back into Amorim’s plans, another European giant could still make a move for the twenty-year-old.

But rather than ruin his players’ chances of getting back into the squad, Amorim was keen to emphasize that his decision had not been final.
