Alec Baldwin’s motorcade is stopped on the way to Montana Rust by a rogue buffalo

Alec Baldwin’s motorcade was stopped by a large buffalo while driving through Yellowstone National Park on Wednesday, just days after his movie Rust began filming.

In photos and video obtained exclusively by DailyMail.com, the actor’s vehicle is spotted in the middle of a roadway as Baldwin and his passengers stare down in old-fashioned style.

The actor, 65, was enjoying a day off from Rust, which is currently filming in Montana after a hiatus of more than a year.

The project moved from New Mexico to Montana and resumed filming after the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins in October 2021.

The 30 Rock actor was initially charged in Hutchins’ death, but the charges were dropped in mid-April after new evidence emerged suggesting Baldwin’s gun could have been fired without pulling the trigger.

Charges against the film’s gunsmith who supplied the deadly weapon remain.

In photos and video obtained exclusively by DailyMail.com, the Rust star can be seen driving around the iconic park in a white Toyota 4Runner SUV.

A woman sits in the passenger seat as Baldwin carefully drives the vehicle through the snow-covered wilderness area.

The vehicle will stop as the buffalo gets a few inches closer to the car, directly in front of the vehicle on the passenger side.

The large animal at one point turns its head toward the vehicle behind Baldwin before returning to the Toyota SUV with Baldwin and at least one woman.

After Baldwin and his cohorts drive off, the buffalo wanders across the road, once again stopping traffic for Yellowstone visitors across the street.

In other videos from his day off, Baldwin takes in the view of Old Faithful next to the woman from the car and another man.

Old Faithful is about 110 miles from Livingston, Montana, where Rust is currently filming. The ride takes about two and a half hours.

Baldwin was initially charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter after Hutchins’ death, but the charges were unexpectedly dropped

Baldwin learned on April 20 that two involuntary manslaughter charges against him for the October 2021 murder of Hutchins were dropped.

His lawyers, Luke Nikas and Alex Spiro, told DailyMail.com: “We are pleased with the decision to dismiss the case against Alec Baldwin and we encourage a proper investigation into the facts and circumstances of this tragic accident.”

Less than 24 hours later, he arrived in Montana to resume filming on the movie, which was shot in New Mexico at the time of Hutchins’ death.

Recently appointed special prosecutors Kari Morrissey and Jason Lewis are expected to file paperwork to dismiss the charges soon.

It means that the details of the incident are being investigated further and that the case could be picked up again in the future.

This will keep the investigation of the accident open and allow prosecutors to retain the power to issue subpoenas in the future.
