Alec Baldwin was caught on camera punching the phone of a pro-Palestinian protester who accosted him in a New York City coffee shop.
The protester, host of an anti-fascist interview show called Crackhead Barney & Friends, posted a video of the interaction on Twitter.
“Alec, can you please say free Palestine for once,” the protester shouted repeatedly at Baldwin.
“Free Palestine, Alec, one more time and I’ll leave you alone. I’ll leave you alone, I swear, just say once: liberate Palestine.’
A coffee shop employee tried to ask the protester to stop bickering with Baldwin, as the actor walked to the door and asked her to leave.
‘Why did you kill that lady? You killed that lady and didn’t get any jail time,” the protester said, referring to the fatal shooting in Rust of cameraman Halyna Hutchins.
Baldwin’s criminal trial for the shooting is set to begin July 10, after a grand jury indicted him on involuntary manslaughter charges in January.
Rust weapons master Hannah Gutierrez-Reed was sentenced to 18 months in prison after a jury found her guilty of involuntary manslaughter in March, making her the first crew member convicted of accidentally shooting Hutchins.
A visibly irritated Baldwin asked the employee to call the police and told the protester that he would not say: free Palestine.
He said ‘can you do me one more favor’ before slapping the protesters’ phone out of her hand.
In December, Baldwin was angrily confronted at a pro-Palestinian protest in Manhattan, telling a protester to “shut up” and get in his face before the actor was led away by police.
In a video posted to social media, a protester shoved a phone in the actor’s face and demanded to know if he supported Israel.
“Because I’m in Hollywood?” Baldwin responded. ‘You’re asking stupid questions. Ask me a smart question.’
Baldwin and the protester continued to yell at each other before police led the actor away.
A crowd followed Baldwin and some mocked him for the fatal shooting in the Rust movie set in 2021.
It is unclear why the actor was near the march organized by Within Our Lifetime, a Palestinian-led community organization that has been active in New York City since 2015.
In December, Baldwin was angrily confronted at a pro-Palestinian protest in Manhattan, telling a protester to “shut up” and get in his face before the actor was led away by police.
The group protested throughout the day at major transit hubs, including Penn Station and Grand Central Station.
As Baldwin was led away by police, a voice in the crowd began shouting, “Who do you think you are?” and “Go fuck yourself.”
“Shut up,” Baldwin barked as he was led away by police.
‘Stop crying! Stop crying!’ he shouted as protesters continued to accost him, before indiscriminately pointing a finger at the crowd and saying, “But I want peace for Gaza.”
As officers led him away, one protester shouted, “You killed someone, right? You’re a murderer!’ with reference to filming on film sets.
