The actor’s exit comes just one day after he and other producers of the upcoming western movie Rust were accused of obstructing the criminal investigation into the fatal shooting of Halina Hutchins, which took place on the set of the feature film.

The cameraman died on October 21, 2021 after being hit by a live bullet from a revolver held by Baldwin, who was shooting a scene on the film’s New Mexico set.

News of the claim was reported by several media outlets on Friday, and time limit reported that the charges were brought by special prosecutor Kari T. Morrissey during a hearing that took place on Friday.

During the hearing, which was held in connection with documents related to the film, Morrissey claimed that the project’s production team deliberately made it difficult to investigate the case.

The special prosecutor stated: ‘Rust Productions either interfered with, hindered or obstructed the criminal investigation in this case.’

Morrissey then offered her thoughts on why the fatal shooting happened in the first place.

“This whole tragedy happened because Rust Productions cut corners whenever they could and hired inexperienced and ill-equipped crew members,” she said.

The hearing was held as part of Morrissey’s case against Rust’s gunsmith, Hannah Gutierrez-Reid.

Baldwin was charged with two counts of manslaughter last January, though his charges were dismissed in April.

Prosecutors indicated they could potentially refile charges against the Beetlejuice actor in the future.

Hutchins’ family also filed a wrongful-death lawsuit in connection with the fatal shooting, though it was settled last October.

The actor eventually returned to the film set to complete his scenes for the film, and his crew wrapped on May 22.
