Alec went on to explain that his problems with cocaine began after he moved from New York to Los Angeles in 1983 and that the habit soon took over his life.
He told the hosts: ‘I had a white hot problem every day for two years. I think I snorted a line of cocaine from here to Saturn… I did one on Saturn’s rings, and then we came home – we took it home.
“I mean, cocaine was like coffee back then. Everyone was working on it all day long.’
Alec eventually gave up drugs, but then his drinking spiraled out of control. He explained: ‘Because I stopped taking drugs, my drinking increased, which they say is going to happen. And that happened. I just started drinking.”
The actor also eventually had to give up booze and he admitted that it’s the only thing he misses. He added: ‘I don’t miss drugs at all, but I do miss drinking. I like drinking.’
When asked what he does now instead of drinking, Alec revealed that he likes to meditate, but it’s difficult to find peace and quiet at home with the seven children he shares with his wife Hilaria.
He said, ‘I’m trying to meditate. [But] Meditating with seven kids is like trying to play ping pong on the deck of an aircraft carrier. It’s a real pain in the ass, man.’

Prosecutors have said they offered the Hunt For Red October star a plea deal that would have resulted in probation and a $500 fine, but later withdrew it.
Lawyers for the state explained their reasons in court papers obtained by People.
“On October 5, 2023, the Special Prosecutors made Mr. Baldwin a plea offer as confidential and privileged plea negotiations and gave Mr. Baldwin until October 27, 2023 to accept the offer or the case would be referred to the grand jury,” they argued . .
“Counsel for the State has received no response at all – not even an email from counsel stating that they have received the offer and would discuss it with their client,” they continued.
In an effort to keep the case out of court, the deadline was extended.
However, the prosecutor learned that the details had been leaked and an NBC reporter was given “all the details of the supposed confidential and privileged plea offer.”
“After determining that the reporter did indeed have all the details of the plea offer to Mr. Baldwin, the undersigned counsel received additional information that Mr. Baldwin and his counsel were working with the media to instigate a campaign designed to to divert attention from any future plea hearing to protect Mr. Baldwin’s public image, they said.
