Aldi shoppers are furious over the supermarket’s spikey duck-feather pillows

Bizarre reason why Aldi buyers are furious about the popular duck feather pillows from the cheap supermarket

  • Aldi shops in the arms over prickly pillows
  • Pillows have sharp duck feathers sticking out
  • A customer said the item has a “security issue.”

Aldi shoppers who bought “scratchy” duck feather pillows say they get spiked at night by tiny, sharp barbs.

A couple in Perth grabbed a set of the supposedly plush pillows in hopes of a great night’s sleep.

But they soon discovered that the pointy barbs were still attached to the hundreds of feathers inside.

“My partner and I felt needles in our arms and hands,” he said Now Perth.

“The pointy end of the feathers hadn’t been removed during manufacture, and all the duck feathers were sticking out of the pillow like thousands of hypodermic needles.

“It was sticking out of the liner—there were hundreds of them.”

A customer said he brought home the Aldi duck feather pillows only to find that there were still tiny barbs (pictured) attached to the hundreds of feathers inside

The customer then returned the cushions to the Cannington store in the south of town where he purchased them and was offered a refund

The customer then returned the cushions to the Cannington store in the south of town, where he purchased them and was offered a refund.

But he disagreed with the pillows still being sold and declined the offer, citing the pointy points as a safety concern for other customers, if more items were affected.

But it is not the first time that the barbed wire cushions have been in the spotlight.

Aldi customer Louise Bowe was so fed up with the sharp pillow springs sticking into her skin all night that she gave them to her dogs to sleep on, she told social media in 2021.

Another customer, Robert McPherson, also claimed to have had a run-in with the spiked pads that scratched him for six months.

He said he would put the stuff in the compost.

But the prickly feathers aren’t the only problem plaguing the German supermarket’s pillow brand.

Danielle Blinks told Aldi’s social media in 2016 that the pillows stink.

Aldi’s pillow range has also received criticism for smelling “like a chicken nugget.”

“Love you Aldi, but those duck feather pillows are kinda smelly… I washed them as suggested, but it still has that ‘polluted ocean’ aroma?”

Marnie Cleveland said the pillows reeked of a “dirty chicken coup.”

‘I think the feathers have not been treated or have not been treated properly. It shouldn’t smell like birds,’ she said.

Customers who are not satisfied with items purchased from an Aldi store will be told they can return the product to receive a full refund.
