It might be $70 – but there’s a good reason why shoppers are talking about this Aldi Australia buy
Australian shoppers have discovered the ‘ultimate’ Christmas gift at Aldi, even though the $70 price is higher than many budget buys in stores.
Aldi Australia’s Retro Turntable Case ($69.99) is a chic turntable with built-in stereo speakers that can also stream audio via Bluetooth.
The record player, available from Saturday 14 December, in a handy carrying case – available in cream, black or sage – is sure to be a popular Christmas gift.
The gadget is perfect for beginners who would like to explore the retro world of records without paying top dollar for a player.
“The suitcase record player is incredible,” said one Aldi shopper. “I was able to connect via Bluetooth and listened to Christmas music all evening.”
‘My ten-year-old daughter begged for a record player, and I happened to find one at Aldi today! I saved the day,” one mother shared online.

“I’ve been looking for a record player for years and the one from Aldi is perfect,” says another.
“It’s compact, the right size and sounds so good,” one customer added.
Aldi also announced the return of its most popular Christmas chocolates, which feature a luxurious Swarovski crystal instead of the standard cheap plastic toys.
The chocolates, which cost $19.99 for a six-pack, each contain a piece of jewelry or an accessory decorated with a Swarovski crystal.
This year’s jewelry includes an infinity symbol necklace, crystal-adorned hair clips, stud earrings and cufflinks.
The bon bon packs, which come in gold or silver, are called ‘hidden secrets’ and are the most expensive available from the Germany-based retailer, ahead of the ‘deluxe” chocolate for $14.99.

Then there are the budget chocolates, which come in a pack of 10 for $9.99.
Aldi’s Christmas shopping will be rolled out on Wednesday, November 13 and is expected to sell out quickly.
The retailer’s popular Lemax Christmas range returns the same day, and this year the range includes the iconic carousel, Santa shop and a music box.
There’s also a bakery and a clock tower, as well as minifigures and the much-loved Christmas train set.
Shoppers will also find a selection of Christmas squishmallows, crafts and Disney characters in the stores.
