Aldi Australia brings back 24-piece Lou Laguiole cutlery set for $29 after selling out in 2024: Here’s how to get it

One of Aldi Australia’s most popular seasonal purchases will hit the center aisle on Wednesday, but shoppers will have to be quick if they want one.

Lou Laguiole’s famous 24-piece cutlery set is available in black, white and oatmeal and sells out within hours upon its annual return to shelves.

The set only costs $29.99, which is almost unheard of for cutlery of such high quality. As a result, it has always been one of the most anticipated stories.

The stylish sets, delivered in a pinewood storage tray, retail for up to $349 on the Lou Laguiole website.

The cheapest they sell elsewhere is $119 on Catch, the discount shopping platform.

The sets are rolled out in January each year – although colors may vary – and often lead to long queues at stores across the country.

The German supermarket first offered the cutlery set in 2019, inviting savvy shoppers to win a set by naming their ideal dinner guest.

Since then, the budget sets have become a must-buy for those unwilling to splurge on the more expensive versions.

“These are beautiful,” one person wrote.

“I have this and I always get compliments when I have people over,” said another.

“Last year I got two sets for when I have dinner parties,” said another.

Others warned that the cutlery does not do well in the dishwasher.

“Make sure you only hand wash these or the bees will fall off,” they said.

Described as ‘the most beautiful cutlery in the world’, Lou Laguiole has always been highly sought after.

While the dupes aren’t hard to find, the fact that Aldi sells the ‘real deal’ always gets people talking.

As a result, Aldi has warned that the cutlery is likely to sell out on the first day due to high demand.
