Alchemy adds new VTT assets to the Critical Role sourcebook

Critical Role’s publisher, Darrington Press, has announced this Tal’Dorei reborn The sourcebook will be available to play on the Alchemy virtual tabletop. The settings guide for Dungeons & Dragons 5e – which was first produced by Green Ronin in 2017 before being ‘reborn’ in 2022 – explores the continent of Exandria where Crucial role‘s first campaign took place. This virtual edition takes place decades after the adventures of Vox Machina Tal’Dorei reborn claims to offer players an immersive experience, building on Alchemy’s reputation as VTT with a focus on high-quality audiovisual assets such as maps and music.

The setting guide delves deep into the history of Tal’Dorei, offering insight into the gods, factions, creatures, and characters that call the continent home, including stat blocks and lore for Vox Machina. Each major region of Tal’Dorei has its own guidebook, offering players story hooks to follow in the footsteps of their favorite play or continue with a story of their own. The book also provides additional subclasses, backgrounds, and magical items for dungeon masters to use in their campaigns. This announcement brings the total number Tal’Dorei reborn‘s VTT conversions to four, with the sourcebook also available Roll 20, D&D onAnd Demiplane.

While Crucial role is best known for their complicated battle maps, Alchemy is more suited to theater-of-the-mind play. Instead of tactical battle grids like those found on D&D Beyond, Alchemy includes custom motion overlays, scenic backgrounds, and environmental soundtracks in the game. Although relatively new compared to some other more ubiquitous VTTs like Roll20, Alchemy has become the go-to partner for many third-party D&D and non-Hasbro tabletop publishers such as Free League, Modiphius, and Hit Point Press. They also have a range of institutions from international publishers such as Italy’s Ennie award-winning Two Little Mice, in addition to system-independent resources such as those from patron Czepeku.

Critters can get the Tal’Dorei Reborn campaign setting for $29.99, or the Tal’Dorei Reborn Enhanced Edition for $39.99.
