Alan Wake and Max Payne voice actor James McCaffrey has died at 65

James McCaffrey, the actor perhaps best known within the gaming community for his portrayal of Max Payne, and more recently Alex Casey in Alan Wake2 and his predecessor, died at the age of 65.

A McCaffrey representative said TMZ – who first reported the news – that the actor had previously been diagnosed with a form of cancer, multiple myeloma. He reportedly died on Sunday (December 17) and was surrounded by family and friends.

In a statement to TMZ, McCaffrey's rep said: “One of Dick Wolf's protégés, McCaffrey went on to have a successful 35-year career in television and film. He was trained at the Actor's Studio and never lost his love for creating characters; However, his good looks often pushed him towards leading male roles.
