Alan Jones to make first court appearance since being arrested over alleged indecent assault and sexual touching incidents
Retired presenter Alan Jones will appear in court for the first time since he was arrested and charged with historic sex abuse offences.
The 83-year-old is expected to appear in Sydney’s Downing Center Local Court on Wednesday as he faces a raft of charges relating to nine alleged victims.
In total, Jones faces 26 charges, including 11 counts of aggravated indecent assault where the alleged victim was under his authority.
He also faces charges of assault with indecency, sexually touching a person without consent and common assault.
The alleged offenses took place between 2001 and 2019, with the youngest of the alleged victims being 17 years old at the time.
Police arrested the famed broadcaster at his luxury apartment on Sydney’s Circular Quay in November, with him later quietly leaving custody flanked by his lawyers.
Shortly after the highly publicized arrest, another alleged victim came forward, leading authorities to file two additional charges.

At the time of the arrest, NSW Police Commissioner Karen Webb said other alleged victims were expected to come forward.
“There is no such thing as a case that is too old to be investigated,” she told the media.
