Alan Carr recalls hilarious moment Jade Goody messed up his fake tan

“I looked like a fat Calippo!” Alan Carr remembers the hilarious moment the late Jade Goody left him as a bright orange popsicle in fake tan blunder at her beauty salon Ugly’s

Alan Carr says Jade Goody turned him into a ‘fat Calippo’ after a faux tan mishap.

The 46-year-old comedian recalls an awkward moment when the late reality TV star – who died of cervical cancer in 2009 – waxed and tanned him about 17 years ago while hosting the Friday Night Project, leaving him looking buoyant colored popsicle.

Self speaking Life is a beach podcast, he said, “She was so sweet. Who didn’t love Jade? She was the best.

“We went there for Friday Night Project and she had a salon called Ugly’s and she was like, ‘Alan, let me put on some fake tan… oh it’s not going to come off.’

‘Eventually, of course, it will. I stayed with my mom and dad and it was like the Shroud of Turin.

‘I had yellow t***. I was orange and yellow. I looked a bit like a Calippo—a fat Calippo.”

Meanwhile, Alan recently admitted that he is trying to get used to being single following his divorce from ex-husband Paul Drayton in January 2022 after such a long relationship.

He told the Biological Encounters podcast: ‘Boy, as a 45-year-old man – I’m 46 now – and when I came out to the dating scene, I was like, “Oh my God.”

‘I didn’t know what to do. I can’t do the apps. I do say to people, ‘Is anyone there?’

Another problem he’s discovered with online dating is the way potential mates can look very different in their social media photos.

He added, “You can’t trust anything with the Instagram filters right now.

“I looked at my friend’s profile and everyone is sitting on a recliner with a pina colada.

“We all look beautiful in the sun. Even I look f****** better in the sun.’

It comes after Alan and his friend Amanda Holden put their €1 Sicilian flat up for sale for £127,500.

The funny man and judge of Britain’s Got Talent, 52, spent three months transforming two flats in the medieval town of Salemi, about an hour’s drive from Sicily’s capital, Palermo.

After buying the two flats for a euro each, the pair documented the renovation process to put them together on BBC’s Amanda and Alan: The Italian Job.

The flat – a two-bedroom, two-bathroom furnished holiday home – was on the market to raise money for Comic Relief and Children In Need.

The 1,300-square-foot apartment was completely renovated — after the couple first found it abandoned, full of trash and used by squatters.

Amanda and Alan tackled the property from the ground up and threw themselves into DIY jobs, from plastering to plumbing.

The beautiful flat was featured on Rightmove, with the description: ‘The three balconies offer breathtaking views of the countryside, making this the perfect place to watch the sunset.

‘It also comes with a shared walled courtyard, perfect for alfresco dining or simply soaking up the Mediterranean sunshine.’
