After a back-and-forth first half, quarterback Jalen Milroe and the No. 8 Alabama Crimson Tide held No. 14 LSU at bay and won the latest edition of ‘The First Saturday in November’ by a score of 42-28.
Milroe was dominant for the Tide, rushing for 155 yards and four touchdowns on 20 carries. He also posted 219 passing yards while completing 15 of 23 passes.
LSU’s Tigers suffered a setback early in the fourth quarter when quarterback Jayden Daniels left the game with some form of head injury.
Daniels came back into the game for one more play before heading to the medical tent for the remainder of the game.
He left completing 15 of 25 passes for 219 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. Daniels also racked up 163 rushing yards and a touchdown on just eleven carries.

Jayden Daniels went down with an injury early in the fourth quarter and did not return
Daniels’ top target was receiver Malik Nabers – who finished the day with ten catches for 171 yards and a touchdown.
In place of Daniels, Garrett Nussmeier entered the remainder of the game completing five of 10 passes for just 53 yards.
LSU received the opening kickoff of the second half and drove to Josh Williams’ 2-yard touchdown run for a 28-21 lead.
The ensuing Alabama possession ended with Roydell Williams running 16 yards for a touchdown that set up the game’s fourth tie.
Milroe ran 11 yards for his fourth touchdown to give the Crimson Tide a 35-28 lead with 1:01 left in the third quarter.
On the first play of the fourth quarter, a Daniels pass was tipped at the line of scrimmage and Terrion Arnold came up with an interception and returned it to the LSU 25.
Three plays later, Jase McClellan ran 10 yards for a touchdown and a 42-28 lead.
But Milroe’s dominance on the ground – with four rushing TDs – proved to be the difference
LSU’s first possession of the game ended with Daniels throwing a 46-yard touchdown pass to Nabers for a 7-0 lead.
Milroe responded with touchdown runs of 23 and 4 yards to give the Tide a 14-7 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Daniels ran 9 yards for a score that tied the Tigers even at 14 with 3:09 left in the second.
Milroe ran 21 yards for another touchdown to break the tie with 1:01 left in the second quarter, but Daniels answered with runs of 40 and 28 yards before throwing a 26-yard touchdown pass to Kyren Lacy to tie the game of 21 yards. .
