Actor Marlon Wayans has been criticized for sharing an Instagram post about the Alabama brawl in which he misquoted Jason Aldean’s new song and called on combatants to “make love, not war.”
The White Chicks star, 51, shared a clip of part of the viral brawl in Montgomery’s Riverfront Park between white pleasure craft and black riverboat staff on Saturday.
He captioned, ‘Shall we NOT try that in a small town’…. Sh*t stupid bro…let’s all just be love NOT war.’
Wayans’ followers objected to the use of Aldean’s anti-woke song ‘Try That in a Small Town’, which critics called racist.
They also accused the actor of not giving context because the clip did not include the beginning of the fight, in which the black guard and the white man were talking before another white man attacks the black man, leading to the mass brawl.

Another added, “Bro I’m all for peace but this video you posted only shows half the situation… these people threw down because they couldn’t stand there and watch a brother is jumped on by several white men. There is more to this whole story and it will come out.”
Wayans later posted the start of the fight on his Instagram, writing, “You must have been kidding me… here! Stupid now.’
The brawl has caught the nation’s attention as details continue to emerge about what led to the violence, with a witness saying the brawl “made them proud of black people.”
The 67-year-old man who did not give his name claimed on Alabama radio that he was aboard the riverboat for his high school reunion, adding, “That privilege is over.”

Despite the shocking violence, Montgomery police have not made any arrests on Tuesday.

one of the men involved in the brawl has been identified by the public and local media as Chase Shipman, owner of the Vasser’s Mini Mart in Selma.
Shipman received backlash after posting video of the brawl online claiming he was trying to get away, as reported by the Selma Times-Journal.
He wrote, “I am sure most of you have seen the news about the riverboat incident. Yes, I was there, but I was the first to try to get away.
“You can see in the video I attached, and I don’t condone what happened. I tried to stop it and realized I couldn’t, so I tried to get away. There’s a video where I walk out first because what happened was wrong and I didn’t want to be a part of it.
“I realize that I have to run and represent a company and that no charges have been brought against me because I was not involved.”
But commentators said the footage showed Shipman was more involved than he admitted, and his business page started flooding with bad reviews.
DailyMail.com made several attempts to contact Vasser’s Mini Mart, but the phone appears to be disconnected.

The as-yet-unidentified assailant was dubbed “Chairmageddon” in the clip, while three shirtless men who stormed down the wharf to join the protracted brawl were branded “The Tugboat Triad.”
One group also claimed that they went back to the wharf the next day to take a photo with the chair, leading one person to joke that the image should now be “in a Black History Museum.”
While no evidence has been found of racial motives behind the fighting, many on the internet were quick to note how the two sides seemed to segregate between white and black.
Reports indicate the fight may have started after an argument over docking, and another corner of the brawl saw a man heard shouting “don’t fuck with the riverboat crew” through a megaphone.
The large group of people had returned to the dock after spending time on the Harriott II Riverboat, but after they returned, the space reserved for them had been taken by a boat owner who parked and abandoned his ship.
The riverboat sent a member of staff to the wharf to untie the smaller vessel so that those on board could return to land if fighting broke out.
