Al-Ittihad are focusing on a deal for Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante as they approach the signing of Karim Benzema.
Benzema is likely to sign for the Al-Ittihad after it was confirmed that he is leaving Real Madrid.
Kante could join his former French teammate Benzema at the Saudi Arabian club, said journalist Rudi Galetti.
The 32-year-old Kante has only one year left on his contract at Stamford Bridge.
It remains to be seen if he will be part of new Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino’s plans.

The report says that talks between Al-Ittihad and Kante’s camp started days ago and that the aim is to reach an agreement as soon as possible.
With Cristiano Ronaldo already at Al-Nassr, more stars could be coming to Saudi Arabia this summer. Lionel Messi, for example, is reportedly ready to sign for Al-Hilal.
Al-Ittihad, who is led by former Tottenham boss Nuno Espirito Santo, won the Saudi Pro League this season at the expense of Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr.
Kante has made just seven Premier League appearances for Chelsea this season as he has been hit hard by injuries.
Pochettino’s first summer in charge is likely to see a major overhaul of the Chelsea squad.
Kante signed for Chelsea from Leicester in 2016 and made 269 appearances for The Blues, scoring 13 goals.
He won the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup and Europa League with the club.
