Al-Hilal ‘set for shock swoop for Harry Kane’ as Saudi club look to rival Bayern Munich in race to sign Tottenham star
- Al-Hilal tries to make a move for Harry Kane to try and get him to Saudi Arabia
- The Saudi side has held talks with an intermediary about signing the striker
- Kane’s Tottenham future remains unclear with Bayern Munich up for third bid
Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal could make a sensational attack on England captain Harry Kane, while the striker’s future at Spurs is still unclear.
Kane has been the subject of much speculation this summer, with the striker being linked with a departure from North London.
Manchester United have retained a stake in Kane but have been put off by Tottenham’s asking price for their talisman, while Bayern Munich have already had two bids rejected by the club.
Now Spurs may have to brace for a new name in the race Sky Sports report that Saudi side Al-Hilal is interested in signing Kane.
According to the report, the club has held talks with an intermediary about the possibility of signing the 29-year-old, but no contact has yet been made with Tottenham.

Al-Hilal has already added Ruben Neves and Kalidou Koulibaly (above) to their ranks
Al-Hilal has been busy in the summer transfer market and has already bagged Premier League trophies, including £47 million for Wolves’ Ruben Neves and recruited Kalidou Koulibaly from Chelsea in a £33 million deal.
The club has also signed Serbian playmaker Sergej Milinkovic-Savic from Lazio for £34 million.
Kane is currently away with Spurs on their pre-season tour, but discussions about his future remain at the center of any story surrounding the club.
Bayern are still confident they can secure a deal for the striker as they are confident Kane is eager to join the German giants.
The Bundesliga’s latest bid of £70 million was turned down by Tottenham owner Daniel Levy, but the German side is expected to bounce back with a third bid when the club returns to London.
Ange Postecoglou wants Harry Kane’s future at the club in order for the new season
Tottenham will not assume anything less than £100m and while Bayern are unlikely to reach that figure, they believe there is room for negotiation.
Kane’s current contract with Spurs expires at the end of the season and could leave on a free transfer next summer if he completes the final year of his north London contract.
New Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou has already said he wants to resolve Kane’s future as soon as possible, admitting he is far from relaxed about the situation.
A situation made all the worse by a Bayern Munich reporter waving a Munich shirt with Kane’s number at the Australian’s press conference last week.
