Al-Ettifaq finished fifth in the Saudi Pro League after a 3-1 victory over Damak on Saturday.
Captain Jordan Henderson led by example as he got two assists in the first half to lead his side to a third win in five games.
They had to work for the win, after former Tottenham and Burnley winger Georges-Kevin Nkoudou opened the scoring from the penalty spot after just seven minutes.
The hosts quickly got back on top in a frantic first half, with Henderson setting up Moussa Dembele, whom British fans may remember from spells at Fulham and Celtic, twice in the opening 25 minutes to make it 2-1.

Hamdan Al Shamrani then secured the three points after 68 minutes with a third goal.
The win leaves Steven Gerrard’s mark just three points behind leaders Al-Hilal after five games.
It was also a good evening for the club off the field as they confirmed the arrival of another former Liverpool midfielder in Gini Wijnaldum.
Al-Ettifaq will play against Abha after the international break on Saturday, September 16.
