Al Brown, the actor who played older dirty cop Stan Valcheck on HBO’s classic crime series The Wire, has died at the age of 83.
The film and television actor died Friday in Las Vegas after a battle with Alzheimer’s disease, his daughter Jenny said. TMZ.
Brown’s moment in the spotlight was on the second season of The Wire, when his petty feud with the leader of a longshore union led to the Baltimore Police Department and FBI investigating Greek drug dealers.
Brown began acting relatively late in life, his first credited role not coming until 1995, when he appeared in Homicide: Life On The Street.
