AJSU party chief Sudesh Mahto on Monday unveiled the party’s strategy for the upcoming assembly elections in Jharkhand, highlighting their commitment to resonate with the sentiments of the people of the state.
Mahto highlighted the prevailing discontent among the people due to what he called the incorrect policies and governance practices of the current coalition government over the past four and a half years.
He stated that the party was determined to strengthen the voices of all sections of society against the incumbent government.
He announced that June 22, the party’s founding day, would be commemorated as ‘Balidan Diwas’ in all 81 constituencies of Jharkhand. Each segment will include a video presentation highlighting the history of the state and the sacrifices that led to its formation.
On electoral alliances, Mahto confirmed that the AJSU party will contest the assembly elections under the NDA banner in Jharkhand.
Previously, the parties, in alliance with the BJP, contested all fourteen parliamentary seats, with the BJP fielding candidates on thirteen and AJSU on one seat (Giridih). This collaboration resulted in the BJP winning eight seats and the AJSU securing one.
Meanwhile, the BJP has also started preparations for the upcoming Assembly elections. BJP national president JP Nadda appointed election officials and co-officials for Jharkhand along with Maharashtra, Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir.
Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan was appointed as election in-charge for Jharkhand, while Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma was named as co-in-charge.
