Former Biggest Loser host Ajay Rochester admits she uses Ozempic after struggling with her weight for several years.
In a heartbreaking interview with 7NEWS Spotlight, Rochester said that during her time as host of The Biggest Loser, she faced immense pressure to be thin, which often led to unhealthy eating habits.
‘The pressure was on to lose those extra kilos. When I presented Biggest Loser, the lightest I got was 70 kilos and I didn’t eat, I didn’t eat,” she explained.
‘I was an emaciated doll who apparently wasn’t thin enough yet. Do you see this photo? I actually thought I was fat there because I was told I was too fat for designers to dress me.
‘I’m not healthy there, but I am thin. Apparently not thin enough.’

Rochester said she received dangerous medical advice from doctors at the time.
“Oh, you’re consistently told, even by doctors, ‘Oh, it’s just eat less, exercise more.’ “If you knew how much less I ate and how much more I exercised and still couldn’t get lean, that’s a stupid recipe,” she said.
She said she was often publicly humiliated because of her weight and once had a milkshake thrown at her on the street.
‘I mean, people have had things thrown at me in the street, like I once had a milkshake thrown at me in Sydney, where these guys were like, “Yeah, you fat pig.” And threw a milkshake at me as I drove by,” she explained.

“I’ve been subjected to paparazzi on the beach, having my body thrown onto the cover of magazines, like a criminal block on my face, like ‘guess who?’ And it’s such a big shame,” she said.
The TV host turned casting director said Ozempic was the silver lining in her story.
‘This drug has absolutely changed my life. It’s not a trick. It’s not cheating. It’s a medicine,” she said.
‘Like I was a prisoner in my body… Let the magic happen. I have a disease, as if I didn’t want to die from being overweight.’
Ajay said Ozempic changed her life
In 2021, Ajay revealed that she is following in Rebel Wilson’s footsteps after being inspired by the actress’ ‘year of health’.
She shared an Instagram post detailing her efforts, alongside a photo of herself post-workout.
“This past week I made some major changes, so I replaced my white bread with soy burgers (sorry, Keto isn’t for me),” she began.
‘There are NO lollipops in my house and yes the sugar intakes are real, I’ve been eating fruit or a small protein snack (e.g. jerky), introduced TABATA training (not fun), increased my water intake, had Brookfarm gluten free muesli and Greek yoghurt for breakfast and most importantly: zero alcohol!’ she continued.

Tabata is a type of HIIT workout that involves eight rounds of 20 seconds of vigorous exercise, followed by 10 seconds of rest.
‘I don’t know what I weigh because I don’t have a scale and that’s not important right now. Exercise, making healthier choices and feeling better is the key to more exercise,” she continues.
‘I lost a few days due to a bad back, which will get easier as I get lighter. Don’t worry about what you can’t do, focus on what you can do.’

Months earlier, she said she planned to lose the pounds she had gained due to a health crisis.
‘It’s time to get my health and fitness back! If Rebel Wilson can do it, so can I!’ she wrote alongside a selfie of her in the hospital.
Ajay explained that she ended up in the emergency room for an electrocardiogram after her heart started fluttering, causing her blood pressure to rise and her panic.
‘I’m fine. My EKG was normal, but it was so alarming that I woke up and got serious. So here’s to MY year of health!’ she wrote.
