A source told the publication: ‘AJ was offered the Big Brother job and jumped at the opportunity. It is a huge boost for her career.

“AJ and ITV are still ironing out details in her contract, but she has told a lot of people that the job is hers.”

For a while, AJ’s name was in the ring for the massive host role alongside This Morning host and former Big Brother contestant Alison Hammond.

Comedian and actress Emily Atack and Radio 1 DJ Vick Hope were also looking for the top spot.

Her predecessors include Emma Willis, 46, who hosted the legendary show until its end in 2018. AJ was recently photographed with the host at the National Television Awards in October.

Big Brother started in 2000 as a social experiment and became a regular part of popular culture.
