Jordan De Goey’s partner Aisha Jade McKinnon has emphasized that her partner is not a ‘bad boy’.

Speaking in an interview with The Herald Sunthe reality TV star claimed De Goey’s reputation among some around the AFL was ‘sad’ and did not reflect his true personality.

The 28-year-old football star has been in the spotlight before, especially after he was arrested in New York in 2021 following an incident at a nightclub.

He ended up spending the night in a Manhattan police station cell. De Goey has also come under fire following his off-field antics at a nightclub in Bali in 2022, when a video emerged of him exposing a woman’s breast.

Last year, the football star claimed he was taking steps during the 2023 offseason to “stay out of trouble” and focus on his football.

Collingwood had also reportedly tried to add several conduct-based clauses to his contract, which had initially been a sticking point for the midfielder before he put pen to paper on a new five-year deal with the Magpies in 2022.

McKinnon has now come to her partner’s defense, claiming his reputation among some in the football world is unfair.

“It’s sad because I know a very different Jordy,” she told The Herald Sun.

Revealing that the couple are ‘really happy’ together, she added: ‘He’s really lovely. We certainly value our privacy, we are connected to that, we both have a unique job and support each other.’

McKinnon, a former Big Brother star and fashion designer, also delved into how she met the footy star.

“We met the old-fashioned way on Instagram,” said McKinnon, as the couple went to buy a farm in Victoria.

‘It was lovely and we were like pen pals until we met. We get our hands dirty on the farm by transforming it and having fun.’

Last season, De Goey scored ten goals in thirteen league matches for the Magpies, after an injury-plagued season.

According to The eraThe football star has traveled abroad in the off-season, in particular heading to the Aspectar clinic in Doha, to undergo rehabilitation treatment on the groin and abdomen in order to be fully fit for the 2025 season.
