A woman's angry act on a night flight angered several passengers around her, but thousands are shocked that no one is speaking out against her 'selfish' behaviour.
An American traveler recently revealed that she was on a stressful red-eye flight where her seatmate decided to plug in a bright and flashing phone charger.
The clear wire contained flashing rainbow lights that went out in rapid succession throughout the flight.
After sharing a clip of the act and calling it “mildly annoying” on Reddit, the woman revealed she regretted not offering the passenger her plain white charger.
“I just wore my hood over my head and held on – I found the upright chair more annoying anyway,” she said in the post.

Several travelers have suffered various mishaps involving airplane etiquette over the years — from pregnant women demanding better seats, to a woman who caused outrage by painting her nails on board, leading to the strong odor of the nail polish that filled the cabin.
Many were shocked by the woman's bile with the rainbow charger, with a few pointing out that the flashing lights were particularly unsafe as it could have caused another passenger's epilepsy.
“Some people literally have the opposite of social anxiety and it really shows,” said one.
'Empathy is a curse. Why was I born with the ability to consider others when it feels like 99 percent of the world's population doesn't care,” another commented.
'Why would anyone own that? Serious. It looks so cheap and the seizure it causes is free… at no extra cost,” a third wrote.
“This is horrible – especially exposing other people to it on a plane is unfathomable,” one woman wrote. “I'd go crazy.”
Some felt that the cheap charger might be the only one the woman could afford, but that was still no excuse.
“There are 20 ways you could use this cable covertly in that scenario,” one person wrote. “It's like just putting the cable through a sweater or shirt so the flashes are hidden, or putting a blanket over it.”
A few didn't see the problem and claimed they were 'obsessed' with the lively charger.
'I have a rope like that. It's a bit hypnotic and I love it in my office. I can imagine accidentally grabbing it without thinking about a plane,” one woman revealed.
“So close your eyes,” said another. “She has every right to live freely.”
