The 48-year-old was arrested at 9.35am on Wednesday morning in Airds, Sydney’s southwest.

He was charged with murder after a 39-year-old was allegedly stabbed to death on Robert Eggins Street in South Kempsey on March 1.

Dramatic footage has since emerged of the 48-year-old man’s arrest, showing heavily armed police storming into a building to arrest him.

The officers ran up a concrete path to the house and shouted “Police!” and then slammed down the front door.

A PolAir helicopter circled overhead as police searched the home.

Moments later, officers brought out a man wearing a green Brooklyn motorcycle T-shirt and cream Nike track pants.

He was then seen hugging his partner who was wearing a pink dressing gown before being then escorted to a police car.

In a subsequent search of the house, police seized items relevant to the investigation, which will be forensically examined.

The 48-year-old was taken to Campbelltown police station where he was charged with murder and was due to appear in court on Thursday.
