Airbnb has launched the ultimate adventure for movie fans, including the chance to stay in the house of Pixar’s UP as it hangs in the air with balloons.
On Wednesday, the short-term rental company announced its new one Collection ‘Icons’ with beautiful houses inspired by films.
‘Icons let you enter worlds you have only dreamed of. Descend into the Up house. Spend the night at the Ferrari Museum. Hang out with Kevin Hart,” the company said.
The house is hoisted with balloons and a crane, allowing residents to remain suspended in the air during their stay.
In addition to the iconic balloon-roofed house, the company has also created a Prince-inspired Purple Rain house and an “X-Mansion” inspired by Marvel’s X-Men series.

The UP House is located in Abiquiu, New Mexico, and is hosted by none other than Carl Fredrickson
UP’s Fredrickson mentioned his quaint home that can accommodate four guests while hanging in the air.
“I don’t always like visitors, but I think it’s kind of nice to have them now that I’m just Dug,” Fredrickson said. “So come and stay in my cozy house that I created together with my sweet Ellie.”
He said each guest will start out as “Junior Wilderness Explorers,” like Russell from the 2009 film.
As the stay progresses, Fredrickson says each guest will go on “mini-adventures” and collect badges along the way.
He’s also asked his chosen guests to clean up around the house, including chores like “picking up the mail” and “looking after the house.”
His home also features a fun activity that allows guests to create their own adventure book straight from the movie.
Fredrickson added that select guests can also enjoy a picnic on the lawn, look at the “night sky” as Ellie loved to do, and enjoy his favorite breakfast: bran flakes.
According to the listing, Airbnb purchased Carl and Ellie’s home to celebrate the film’s 15th anniversary. Requests to book the house close on May 13th.
“Ellie was the best adventurer, so you have big shoes to fill,” Fredrickson said.
The chance to live in the house left people divided on social media, with some loving the idea and others fearing for their safety.
“Airbnb is the next Disney,” said one commenter online.
“You don’t pay me to stay in this place,” wrote another.

The enormous house, which can accommodate eight guests, costs $97 per person. Requests to book the mansion open on Wednesdays and close at 2:59 am on May 14.
The ‘X-Men ’97’ is a replica of the X-Mansion from the Marvel movie and is located in New Castle, New York.
The property is hosted by Jubilee, a Marvel comic book character, who offers guests the opportunity to have a “completely ’90s sleepover.”
‘Calling all mutants! Or for anyone who feels slightly different. This is your chance to find out how special you are at Xavier’s Institute for Higher Learning,” Jubilee said.
During the stay, Jubilee has promised to guide “new students” through orientation, the chance to enter Beast’s “totally gnarly laboratory,” take a class in the Danger Room, and try out Cerebro in the War Room.
Before the guests say goodbye, the ‘superhost’ will ‘debrief’ them about their ‘new powers’ and also present them with their own diploma and class photo.
“I can’t wait to have you over to our home so you can see what we’re talking about,” she wrote.”
Another unique getaway offered by Airbnb gives guests the chance to stay in the house where Prince shot the movie Purple Rain.
Located in Minneapolis, the rental is hosted by Wendy and Lisa, the musical duo who collaborated with the Prince of Funk. It will open for applications in August.
“For the first time ever, celebrate the life and music of our friend and legendary frontman of The Revolution, Prince, by staying in the real-life Purple Rain house from the film,” the duo wrote.
It’s unclear how much the Purple Rain experience will cost, but according to the ad, guests will get the chance to “sleep like The Kid himself,” get a glimpse into Prince’s world and “get crazy about rare Prince tracks.” ‘

Other great experiences the company offers include the chance to spend a night at the Ferrari Museum, a stay at Paris’ Musée d’Orsay, and in June Airbnb will unveil its ‘core memories’ experience, inspired by the Disney animated film Inside Out 2.
In addition to crashing into dreamlike homes, the rental company has gone a step further and offered exclusive interactions with celebrities and internet stars including Kevin Hart, Doja Cat, Khaby Lame, Feid and Bollywood star Janhvi Kapoor.

Requests for each listing, including VIP experiences, are chosen by Airbnb. The company will choose approximately 4,000 winners over the course of the year.
All featured properties are available for under $100.
“Traditionally, we haven’t been known for making anything. We are a platform,” said Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky.
