A TikToker has shared a series of handwritten notes she found while staying in an Airbnb, leaving many viewers baffled.

Joanna Anderson shared a now-viral video in which she explained that she was in a “beautiful house” but was shocked to discover notes with extra charges for using basic amenities.

One note on the WiFi router read: ‘WiFi is free on the first day of your stay, but after that you will be charged £10.00 ($12.67 USD) per day per device.’

Another comment about laundry equipment read: ‘The washing machine will be charged at £5.00 ($6.34 USD) per wash. No exception.’

Similar expense notes were also on the TV and pool table.

Joanna Anderson told onlookers in her now-viral video that while she was in a very “nice house,” there were notes of extra charges taped all over the basic amenities.

But Anderson revealed it got much worse. Other bizarre notes were scattered throughout the house.

One attached to a white fur armchair read: ‘Do not sit in this chair, it was my late husband’s favorite chair’.

The microwave read ‘no meat products or animals allowed’, while the bathroom sink read ‘Please do not bring [a] shower or bathe after 8 p.m., we save water’. Another on the fridge demanded: ‘This is a vegan household, respect that!’

Anderson recorded the conversation she had with an Airbnb host about charges after leaving the venue and receiving a bill for $937.73 (£740).

Charges were made for Wi-Fi, use of the washing machine, deep cleaning of floors and carpets and for damage to an antique teacup.

While on the phone, the host can be heard telling Anderson that she “used the pool table twice and there’s a bill on the table.”

But the shocked guest wonders, “I’m actually curious as to whether or not I sat on the pool table, how did you know I was on the pool table?”

The host quickly told her “everything was in a different place,” noting that Anderson had also used the washing machine.

Ultimately, Anderson is told by the host that all additional charges were stated when she signed an agreement to rent the Airbnb and that she had to dispute the charges with the company.

The video left many viewers wondering how the host learned of the allegations and suspecting that the property was equipped with cameras.

One onlooker wrote: “I feel like there were cameras in that Airbnb.”

While another said: ‘Hidden cameras. Call the police and a lawyer. If she knows something has been used twice, it means she’s watching.”

One viewer questioned the placement of the chair, saying, “Am I the only one wondering why the chair was put in a public Airbnb and not taken to a private home if it was so special and sentimental?”

Another also wondered: ‘She said you used the pool table twice. If you put it back wrong, how will she know if it was once or ten times?’

It comes as another TikToker shared their horror Airbnb story, writing: ‘This is like I got admitted to an Airbnb because I fell asleep on the couch instead of the bedroom. The next day I received a message asking if I could please sleep on the bed in the bedroom.’

According to the Airbnb website, hosts are not allowed to collect additional fees or charges outside of the platform unless expressly permitted by the company.
