Airbnb guest baffled by bizarre list of kitchen rules shared by ‘neurotic host’
An Airbnb guest was baffled by the strict rules for the kitchen.
The guest was imposed a number of strict rules, including the consumption of only one dish per glass per meal and he was warned to drink the tap water ‘at your own risk’.
Share their confusion with the subreddit was mildly annoying and the guy wrote: ‘The kitchen rules of the Airbnb host…’
The bizarre orders were printed on an A4 sheet of paper and, all the more confusing, typed in different font sizes and colors.
An extensive list of Airbnb kitchen rules has baffled Reddit users after a bewildered guest shared it on the platform
The first line read: ‘One dish and one glass per meal!’ while underneath there is a small print explanation: ‘We keep it clean and expect you to do the same!’
Despite telling the guest to wash the dishes by hand, the host revealed that they had a dishwasher in the third line and warned the tenant not to use it during ‘quiet hours in the neighborhood’ between 1:00 p.m., 2:30 p.m. p.m. and 10 p.m. and 9:30 a.m.
They wrote: ‘We have had numerous complaints about the noise and have respected the neighborhood’s quiet hours by not using large electronics.’
Perhaps added after an amateur magician spent the night, the host warned the guest not to bend his spoons.
They wrote: ‘Spoons are intended for use only.’
Another obscure line told the guest to reach out for “advanced cutlery” and “serving trey needs.”
The penultimate agenda item told the guest that the “tap water is fine,” but added ominously to “Drink at your own risk.”
The last line on the list, which baffled Reddit users, read: ‘Don’t keep food in the refrigerator for longer than 16 hours. This is for hygienic reasons.’
The now-viral post has generated thousands of comments from users who were surprised by the extensive list of rules.
One user wrote: ‘I wouldn’t feel comfortable in that house. I feel like you’re tense all the time.’
Another added: ‘What is Airbnb’s refund policy for ‘accidentally booked stay with a neurotic host?’
Most were baffled by the list, questioning the meaning behind “sophisticated cutlery” and pondering what previous guests had done with the host’s spoons.
