AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday said his party has fielded three candidates so far in the upcoming Rajasthan Assembly elections and more names will be announced in consultation with the state leadership.
The Lok Sabha MP from Hyderabad said the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) is participating in the assembly polls in Rajasthan for the first time.
For the November 25 elections, it has fielded candidates from Hawa Mahal constituency in Jaipur, Fatehpur in Sikar and Kaman in Bharatpur.
“The party has nominated three candidates for the upcoming Assembly elections and more names will be announced in consultation with the state leadership. The party is contesting the Rajasthan Assembly elections for the first time and we will do our best to ensure that our candidates perform well. ,” Owaisi told a press conference here.
He said public meetings of the AIMIM candidates are planned in Fatehpur on Saturday and Jaipur on Sunday.
On his party’s strategy in the upcoming polls, Owaisi said they will go to people highlighting that Congress has failed to provide them governance and has remained busy with infighting as well as communalism and pro-majority behavior of the BJP in the country.
Asked whether he is not part of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA), formed by opposition parties to take on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, he said this is the meaning does not diminish. of the AIMIM and they will continue to do their work.
“This (INDIA) is an elite club of the leaders of secularism. There are big people in this club.
People like us are not needed and we are not interested in being part of it. We will do our job.” Owaisi said.
When reminded that Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has claimed that Congress will retain power in Rajasthan, he said the grand old party and its leaders say many things.
“In the last Lok Sabha elections, he (Gehlot) had said they would win all the seats, but his son lost the contest. They say a lot of things,” Owaisi said.
