Aiims Delhi server down for hours, hospital says shut for maintenance
AIIMS Delhi’s server was reportedly down from Wednesday afternoon to Thursday noon, causing inconvenience to doctors and patients in the hospital’s emergency and outpatient departments.
The AIIMS administration clarified on Thursday that “the AIIMS server and e-hospital have been shut down for maintenance.”
Doctors said they faced difficulties in accessing files and medical reports, while patients faced inconvenience in carrying out registrations and tests.
“The functioning of the emergency department and OPD was disrupted as the server was down. Registration of new patients could not be done, test reports could not be downloaded and tests could not be performed as the barcode was not generated,” claimed a senior doctor.
He further said that interventions and surgeries that depend on blood reports and other diagnoses should be postponed. The labs revived online services by Thursday noon.
A patient who visited the hospital while the server was down said that the registration of some of the patients was done manually, resulting in a long queue.
“We went for blood tests but they could not be done as the barcode could not be generated,” said another patient.
