Aidan Turner worlds away from Poldark as he debuts bold new moustache filming Disney+ series Rivals
Aidan Turner looked worlds away from his Poldark character Captain Ross when he rocked an all-new look on Tuesday when he took to the set of his new Disney+ series Rivals.
The Irish actor, 39, looked dramatically different as he swapped his usual stubble for a handlebar moustache.
The Poldark star appeared in good spirits as he laughed and chatted with the crew and his co-stars Alex Hassell and Luke Pasqualino.
Aidan dressed warmly for filming on the Gloucestershire countryside set, opting for a gray cargo print jacket with ‘set robe’ written on top of his suit.
Underneath, the actor wore light brown pants, brown suede shoes and a denim shirt.

Aidan adopted the hairy look for his role as a fiery TV host in the Disney+ adaptation of Jilly Cooper ‘bonkbuster’ Rivals, set in 1986.
The shoot, at Chavenage House in the Cotswolds, marked a return to familiar territory for Turner, as the imposing house was also used as the location of the Poldark family staple, Trenwith, in the BBC drama.
Aidan’s character in Rivals, Declan O’Hara, is married to Maud, played by fellow Irish actor Victoria Smurfit.
Elsewhere on set, Luke and Alex turned into dashing knights in shining armor as they filmed scenes on horses.
Luke stepped into an enchanting light pink shirt and beige trousers with knee-high brown boots as he mounted his trusty horse.
Alex wore a similar look, with a white shirt that set them apart.
The upcoming adaptation of Jilly Cooper’s iconic novel also features Danny Dyer, David Tennant, Emily AtakKatherine Parkinson, Oliver Chris and Claire Rushbrook.
Set in 1986, the story follows the cutthroat world of independent television, including the tense rivalry between Rupert Campbell-Black (Hassell) and Lord Tony Baddingham (Tennant).

According to Disney+, Rivals is a “joyful naughty rollercoaster ride, steamy in its love stories and brimming with larger-than-life characters.”
The streaming service continues that it brings a “lens from the 2020s to the 1980s” and offers a “crude exploration of a complicated moment in British history when class, race, sex, wealth and sexual liberation meant that for the very privileged few were no limits to what they could achieve’.
Rivals is produced by Happy Prince, part of ITV Studios, and airs globally on Disney+, Hulu in the US and Star+ in Latin America.
Danny has been busy since he left EastEnders for Christmas and was spotted filming for the BBC comedy Henpocalypse! this week – in which he plays an elevated version of himself.
