AIAIAI’s niche DJ headphones are too elite for a 29% off Black Friday deal, but we live
Now then. You have your Black Friday headphone deals that appeal to almost anyone shopping for cans – and then you have your alternative, niche, user-specific deals that tickle the ears of the select few who know what they are (not) looking at .
And this particular offer – despite being one of the best Black Friday deals I’ve seen – falls into the latter camp.
The product is the AIAIAI TMA-2 DJ
Why? I’m going to work on that. Let me first tell you that they are now and until November 28th just $98 (was $139) at professional audio and musical instrument store Sweetwateror £85 (was £120) from Thomann in Great Britain (although you will have to pay around £10 in postage).

Some details then. As I proclaimed in a summer mission entitled I miss my Sennheiser HD 25 – but cross-eyed and these DJ-on-ears could be them, it’s as if the Danish company AIAIAI has presented a solution for my aging cheap DJ cans with the TMA-2 DJ XE .
The product they are (probably) trying to imitate? The Sennheiser HD 25. These cans made the rounds in music circles and were draped around the necks of professional and casual listeners alike from their debut in 1988 – including the subsequent Bluetooth option, the excellent Sennheiser HD 250BT, which finally arrived in January 2021 by.
When I was cutting my teeth as an audio journalist a few years ago, I was handed Sennheiser’s cheap HD 25 on-ears, so I could at least Look aware of the audio game. I wore them everywhere. I managed to catch myself 75th anniversary couple in 2020, while working for Ny Breaking’s sister publication, What Hi-Fi?
Unfortunately, if you’re anything like me, your headphones have gotten you through hell and high water over the years—and nothing lasts forever (even cold November rain). Yes, we’d all love a new pair, the wireless HD 250BT or the HD 25, but here in the UK that’s not so easy – Sennheiser’s UK website hides the HD 25 and the 250BT is listed as “phased out” ” .
Then comes Danish firm AIAIAI’s 2023 “headphones aimed at DJs”, which in low light could quite easily be mistaken for my beloved HD 25 – and that’s the setting disc jockeys often work in, right?
The AIAIAI TMA-2 DJ XE headphones are an extension of the TMA-2 DJ headphone line from the Danish audio specialist, aimed at DJs. And just like my HD 25, the wired TMA-2 DJ
The TMA-2 DJ units.
Can they make it into a roundup of only the best cheap headphones we’ve tested? It is possible. The company’s TMA-2 Studio Wireless+ hasn’t made a single boom, but the TMA-2 Ninja Tune Edition proves there’s plenty of talent out there – and at this reduced price I think I might give the TMA-2 DJ XE a try, you know…
