People are turning to AI for career advice, meal ideas and travel tips, but as the new year began, DailyMail.com asked popular chatbots for achievable resolutions.
Research shows that 23 percent of Americans abandon their resolutions by the end of the first week, and 43 percent quit by the end of January.
The failures come from people 'thinking too big', but Google's Bard, Microsoft's Bing and ChatGPT have put together 10 realistic yet unconventional resolutions for 2024.
These include hosting a monthly themed dinner to build stronger connections with others, eating a weekly vegan meal to improve health, and starting a digital detox.
Organize a themed dinner every month
Hosting dinner parties would not only be fun but also create strong bonds with friends and family
Google's Bard said: 'Have a themed dinner party every month.
'From medieval parties to sci-fi soirees, let your imagination run wild and create unique culinary experiences for your guests.'
The bots said it was a great way to maintain strong social bonds while letting go and de-stressing.
Research your family history
Bard said, “Trace your family history and build a family tree: discover your roots, delve into forgotten stories and connect with distant relatives for a fascinating journey into your past.
“Happy New Year, and may your resolutions be as unique and exciting as you are!”
Have one plant-based day per week
ChatGPT said: 'Challenge yourself once a week to eat only plant-based meals.
'It's a fun way to discover new recipes and cuisines while contributing to a healthier lifestyle and the environment.'
Eating a vegan meal every week to improve health
Start a one-sentence journal
ChatGPT also suggested starting a one-sentence journal in which you write a single sentence every day.
ChatGPT said, “Write one sentence every day about something you were grateful for or something interesting that happened.
'It's a way to keep a diary in a relaxed way.'
Start a digital detox
Interestingly, ChatGPT suggested that spending time on a screen-free 'digital detox' could be an exciting and unusual New Year's resolution for a web application.
ChatGPT said: 'Go one day a week or a few hours a day without digital devices, such as phones, computers and TV.
'Use this time to read, meditate or explore nature.'
Write a handwritten letter every week
Equally ironically, many of the suggestions from the neural network-based AI systems suggested that users embrace a more analog way of life.
Claude.AI, a chatbot supported by Google and Amazon, ssuggested: 'Write and email a handwritten letter every week – Reconnect with distant friends or family the old-fashioned way.'
Overcome a childhood fear
Claude suggested that overcoming a childhood fear could be a good, albeit unconventional, solution
Claude suggested that overcoming a childhood fear could be a good, albeit unconventional, solution.
Claude said, “Face something that has been hanging over your head since childhood, such as spinning, public speaking, roller coasters, or the ocean.”
Invest in shares
DailyMail.com asked Microsoft's Bing with ChatGPT for recommendations: unlike other chatbots, it provides quotes from live Internet sites and bases its recommendations on facts found online.
Bing suggested that a Forbes survey found that 38.2 percent of people plan to focus on finances by 2024.
Bing said: 'Improve your financial situation: Another popular solution is to improve your finances.
'For example, you can think of making a budget, saving money or investing in shares.'
Become a human calendar
Bard proposed becoming a human calendar by training your brain to remember events on a certain day of the week
DailyMail.com asked Google's Bard to come up with interesting and unconventional New Year's resolutions.
Google hopes to reach two billion consumers with Bard and integrate it into its existing Google Voice Assistant.
Bard suggested, “Train your memory to remember the day of the week for a given date. Your friends will be amazed (and a little confused).”
