Agniveer plan against rural youth, says Rahul Gandhi in Bihar | Political News – Business Standard

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday alleged that the Narendra Modi government at the Center was neglecting 73 percent of the country’s population, who belong to marginalized sections of the society.

Addressing the ‘Jan Vishwas Rally’ organized by the RJD here, Gandhi, in an apparent reference to the BJP, alleged that ‘one party’ was trying to create hatred among the people but ‘we are offering ‘nafrat ke bazaar mein mohabbat’ (love in the marketplace of hate)”.

He alleged that injustice is being done to farmers, youth and the downtrodden in the country.

“The Center is neglecting 73 per cent of the population belonging to marginalized sections of society,” Gandhi said.

Referring to the Agniveer recruitment programme, the implementation of which sparked protests in Bihar, the Congress leader alleged that the initiative was against the youth of the country.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge during his speech claimed that the INDIA bloc will win maximum number of seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

He said the Opposition leaders were not afraid of central agencies like ED, CBI and IT, which were “misused against them”.

“For the prosperity of the country and to protect the Constitution, the Modi government must be voted out,” he added.
