AFLW star reveals the shocking result of a vicious head clash she suffered during a match

  • Chelsea Randall got a nasty black eye
  • It came during the Crows’ win against Collingwood
  • She is expected to play in Adelaide’s match against North Melbourne

Adelaide Crows star Chelsea Randall has been cleared by medics to play in Adelaide’s big match against league leaders North Melbourne this weekend after she was involved in a brutal collision with Collingwood’s Eliza James on Sunday.

The incident occurred during the first quarter of the match, with both players colliding during a marking contest.

James was ruled out for the remainder of the match due to concussion, while Randall passed her head injury assessment after 20 minutes on the sidelines.

The Crows would go on to earn a 56–13 victory against the Magpies, with Randall scoring a goal in the fourth quarter to help seal her victory.

The result keeps Adelaide in the top four and level with Brisbane on 28 points, with two games to play before the AFLW finals series begins.

Randall, meanwhile, took to Instagram after the match to show off the painful-looking black eye she was left with after the head clash.

The defender, who has scored five goals for the Crows this season, appeared to have suffered some swelling on the right side of her face following the accidental collision.

Randall appears to be in good spirits despite the injury and has been cleared by doctors to compete against North Melbourne on Friday evening

Fortunately, doctors have declared that she suffered no structural damage to her face, meaning she will likely be available for Friday night’s big game.

On Instagram, Randall revealed the injury to her followers, saying, “Hey guys, I just wanted to say…” she said before turning her head so viewers could see her black eye.

“Hope you’re having a great day,” she added before appearing to laugh about the injury as she posted a photo of herself giving a thumbs up.

The footy star appears to be making light of the injury, posting a photo of himself next to a chipmunk and a photo of Harry Potter after drinking a Polyjuice Potion during the iconic film franchise.

However, Randall seemed to see the lighter side of the injury, posting a photo of herself next to a panda bear making a heart symbol with her hands.

She captioned the post: ‘Footy footy footy. Here’s your Monday content. Chipmunk > Polyjuice > Panda eyes.’

Randall also sent a note to James in the caption, writing, “Big love to @elizajames_ in this match,” adding a “heart hands” emoji.
