An AFL football star’s scenic weekend getaway on the water has turned into an embarrassing nightmare after his boat sank and was towed ashore.
Former West Coast Eagles player Mark LeCras had just taken his boat out for a ride when he suddenly started getting water.
LeCras, 36, who lives in Western Australia and is a passionate fisherman, took photos of the sinking ship on Sunday and shared footage of the blunder on Instagram.

‘For sale: 1 owner who has just been to the bay to watch dolphins. Never made any hard miles,” he joked in the post’s caption.
“If you (sic) don’t run aground or sink a boat, then you (sic) don’t have a rift.”
He added “how good sailing” before thanking boat insurance company Club Marine.
LeCras’ former teammate Nic Naitanui chimed in with the post, writing, “Some people just can’t handle their fish.”
Friends and fans of the AFL premiership player also commented.
“Keep it on the trailer,” joked one user.

“Must have brought the 2018 premiership trophy on board and gone overweight, unlucky one,” added a third.
The water levels almost reached half the cabin of the boat. It was eventually retrieved from the ocean and brought to shore.
LeCras played 219 games for the Eagles and kicked 441 goals during his football career.
He was on the Eagle’s premiership team when they defeated the Collingwood Magpies and won the flag in 2018. He retired from football following the win.
