- Lachie Neale took aim at AFL commentator David King
- King noted that the star was the 284th midfielder
- Lion's superstar went on to win the second Brownlow Medal
Brisbane's Lachie Neale commented on AFL expert commentator David King in a social media post on Saturday to round out the year.
Neale had a great season with the Lions, picking up his second Brownlow Medal and coming agonizingly close to helping his side win the grand final against Collingwood.
In a seemingly innocent social media post, Neale shared a number of photos on Instagram of his friends, family and teammates.
But one image was a screenshot of comments King made during the season saying Neale was the '284th midfielder'.
'He's absolutely right. Over the last four weeks he has averaged 21 disposals, which is 70th in the league,” said King.

Neale posted a comment that commentator David King made about him during the season
“He's had 18 score involvements, which is 123rd in the comp.
“He's winning endorsements, he's won 30 endorsements, but nothing is coming out. There is no damage, there is no more escape.
'Over the past four weeks, according to the 100x rater – which compares him on average per 100 minutes – he is the 284th midfielder.'
Neale clearly had not forgotten King's cheeky comments and produced a spectacular second half of the season for Brisbane.
His followers were amused by the post and took to the comments section to let him know.
“You're probably at 283rd, come on mate,” wrote golfer Min Woo Lee.
'That receipt on the last slide! I love it brus,” replied another.
“284, pick up your Brownlow game, will you!” joked a third.

The Lions co-captain was stunned after his second Brownlow win in four seasons.
“Things aren't going well at the moment,” he said after the vote was completed.
“I'm sure it will sink in at a later date. To be honest, I'm pretty confused, so apologies if this doesn't go so well.
“I didn't expect this, and to be among the names that won two is incredible.”
