AFL star Lance ‘Buddy’ Franklin flaunted his bulging biceps in a white T-shirt for the cover of Men’s Health magazine.

The 36-year-old star looked to be in the best shape of his life as he showed off his muscular physique and extensive collection of tattoos.

The footballer completed his look with a pair of off-white cargo pants as he posed with his hands in his back pockets.

The photo shoot and interview will be out in the next few days.

It comes just one day after Sydney Swans manager John Longmire revealed that Buddy is likely to have a very different role on the pitch this season.

At 36, Franklin is officially the oldest player in the AFL and 2023 is shaping up to be his last campaign kicking Sherrin.

The key champion striker, who scored his 1,000th career goal against eventual Premiers Geelong early last season in unforgettable scenes at the SCG, is more likely to be an impact option in the coming months.

Longmire said Franklin won’t be trusted to win games for the Bloods with his famous left foot.

“I would have thought it was a good sign for our football club,” he told the Sydney Morning Herald.

‘Lance shouldn’t have to be a star every year, particularly in [his age] 35, 36.

“I clearly think that’s an unrealistic expectation.”

A lot is changing for Buddy and his model wife Jesinta Franklin. The couple share two children, Tullulah, three, and one son, Rocky, two.

In November 2021, news broke that the couple bought a seven-bedroom, eight-bathroom mansion on the Gold Coast for $10 million.

Buddy, who left Hawthorn to join Sydney in 2014 on a nine-year deal worth $10 million, re-signed with the Swans for another season in 2022.

Meanwhile, Jesinta announced last October that she signed a prestigious modeling contract with Seafolly.

Jesinta rose to fame in 2010 when she was crowned Miss Universe Australia and then married Buddy in 2016 after four years of dating.
