AFL star Dane Swan buys classic historic pub in Melbourne’s trendy Chapel Street: ‘I like being around people and having a beer’
AFL legend Dane Swan has bought a stunning pub in Melbourne’s fashionable Chapel Street.
The 39-year-old former Collingwood football star is now co-owner of the historic Union Hotel.
Originally built in 1856, this charming hotel is located in Windsor, in the trendy South Yarra district.
The beautifully maintained establishment features two fireplaces and a beer garden.
According to the Announce Sun, Swan plans to transform The Union and expand operations.

This is the third time the footy champion has dived into hospitality real estate as an investor in recent years.
Swan already has interests in The Albion hotel in South Melbourne and The Osbourne in South Yarra.
His partners in the new venture are Gabriel Jakobson and Simon Lennox, owner of The Osbourne.
The one-time footy “bad boy” told the publication about his passion for the pub scene.
“I’m not good at anything else, I like being around people and having a beer,” he said.
“I played footy, I was out and about a bit. It’s not about what you know, it’s about who you know and I’ve made great friendships going out and I’m working with them now.’

It comes after Swan and his long-term girlfriend Taylor Wilson welcomed a twin daughter last year.

The footy great and his girlfriend welcomed Tait in February 2021.
The pair started dating in 2010, but they are known to maintain a lower profile than some AFL couples.
