AFL star Bailey Smith sends fans into a frenzy with racy workout video: ‘I think I just got pregnant’

AFL star Bailey Smith has set hearts racing on social media after posting a spicy workout video.

Bailey, who recently announced he wanted to swap his current club, the Western Bulldogs, shared a short clip on Instagram on Monday.

The footage showed Bailey starting his off-season training with some boxing and a dip in a cold water bath in what appeared to be his own backyard pool.

However, fans of the footballer seemed more interested in what Bailey revealed after taking off his tracksuit bottoms for his dip in the pool, than in the behind-the-scenes training tips.

It seems Bailey’s 337,000 Instagram followers were quite impressed with the pose he struck, standing sideways to the camera as he prepared to dive in.

Former Western Bulldogs and current Port Melbourne star Billy Gowers was quick to point out the obvious with a decidedly unsubtle comment: ‘What about his magic wand?’

Football legend Buddy Franklin was equally impressed, saying succinctly, “Wow.”

“I think I’m pregnant,” one fan exclaimed, while another responded with a similar comment: “who has three legs and likes to swim.”

One fan praised Bailey’s social media prowess for posting such a racy clip on the same night as the Brownlow Medal.

‘Strategically uploaded on Brownlow night when everyone is on their phones,’ they wrote.

“That boy knows exactly what he’s doing.”

The commotion surrounding the racy video was so great that Bailey felt compelled to no longer comment on the clip.

Bailey’s training comes after he officially informed the Western Bulldogs club last week that he wants to be traded to clubs including Geelong, Hawthorn and Collingwood, who are reportedly interested in his services for next season.

Bailey, who led the Bulldogs to the finals in 2021, was forced to sit out the entire 2024 season after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament in training in December.

His future is a recurring topic of conversation, and as the season progressed it became increasingly clear that he wanted to leave Whitten Oval.

When the Bulldogs parted ways with the club on Monday following last Friday night’s finals defeat to the Hawks, the club confirmed that Smith had requested a transfer.

“Western Bulldogs midfielder Bailey Smith has informed the club that he wants a transfer this summer,” a statement said on Monday.

The 23-year-old has not yet indicated a preferred club.

‘Given Bailey’s immense talent, age and proven ability to influence matches, the club will work hard to ensure he is fairly compensated throughout the process.’

Smith has played 103 AFL games since being drafted by the Bulldogs in 2018.
