AFL reporter Tom Browne and wife Tara welcome second baby

Sevens AFL reporter Tom Browne and his wife Tara have welcomed their second child together.

Tom and Tara made the announcement via Instagram on Saturday and shared some lovely photos of the baby.

‘Camilla Grace Browne. Born 4/3/23,” Browne wrote on Instagram.

‘The most perfect girl we could ever imagine. Tara did the most amazing job. We are both very lucky to complete our beautiful family. Henry is very excited!

Camilla is a younger sister to brother, Henry, two.

It comes after Tom was admitted to Victoria’s Cabrini Hospital in November after a crippling infection left him bedridden and unable to work.

Fortunately, his medical team treated him effectively and helped the football correspondent return to the field.

After a successful surgery, the sports reporter received a clean bill of health and was given permission to return to work.

Many of Tom’s fans took to Twitter to express relief that he was on the mend with one concerned follower telling him to “go well.”

At 32, he was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, but a combination of medical treatment and healthy living help him keep it under control.

“I think a lot of people with diabetes have a similar attitude towards me, which is that they just want to get on with their lives, but the reality is that it’s a serious disease,” he told the Herald Sun.

‘I think people should be inspired by players like (footballers) Paddy McCartin and Sam Reid; You shouldn’t let it stop you.

Tom, who is the son of Collingwood Chairman Jeff Browne, and his wife Tara live in a mansion in Melbourne.

He worked as a lawyer from 2006 to 2009 before beginning a career in sports journalism.
