Located on the sought-after peninsula near the entrance, 65 miles north of Sydney, the house was purchased by McVeigh in 2021 for $870,000.
Originally built in the 1960s as a modest cottage, it was sold by estate agents as ‘an innovator’s dream’.
Meanwhile according to The Daily TelegraphMcVeigh did not proceed with major developments, even though the location was ideal for a major refurbishment investment.
The house is located on a 660 square foot block, just a short walk from Blue Bay Beach, Shelley Beach and Toowoon Bay.
McVeigh began his first-class football career in Melbourne with Essendon Football Club in 1999 and played 232 times for the side before retiring in 2012.
He later worked at Channel Seven and SEN radio as a sports commentator.

Last month, the former champion resigned from the Greater Western Sydney AFL club after working there as a coach for nine years.
The news comes after another prominent Central Coast resident was recently sold.
Film critic and TV producer Margaret Pomeranz unloaded her amazing beachfront cottage in Patonga in September after listing it for $4.5 million.
Pomeranz, 74, bought the three-bedroom, two-bathroom home in 1995 for $345,000 while co-hosting The Movie Show on SBS with David Stratton.
Located 96.2 km north of Sydney, the house was sold to an undisclosed buyer for an undisclosed amount close to the asking price.
