Glamorous AFL couple Joel and Brit Selwood announce the birth of their miracle baby, after harrowing fertility struggles.

AFL star Joel Selwood and his wife Brit have welcomed their miracle baby into the world after years of battling fertility.

The couple announced the birth of their first child on Friday, a baby boy named Joey Victor Selwood.

Sharing a black and white photo of the newborn, Brit wrote: “The world just got so much better Joey Victor Selwood your mom and dad are so in love with you.”

Friends and fans flocked to the comments on the cute photo to congratulate the couple on their new arrival.

When the Geelong Cats captain and his special needs teacher wife Brit announced their pregnancy last year, they opened up about their struggle to conceive.

Brit said her heart breaks for anyone struggling to have a baby, and that she hopes they too will get their miracle one day.

They told the world their exciting news by sharing a photo showing the athlete holding a small soccer jersey with his player number and “dad” written on the back.

Alongside the photo, Brit wrote: “Our dreams have come true, Joel and I are so grateful to share that we have a little boy coming into the world,” she wrote.

‘We couldn’t make this announcement without acknowledging those who are struggling with infertility or loss. I know how much my heart would break every time I saw a pregnancy post and my heart truly goes out to you if that’s how you feel right now.

‘These last few years have changed me forever. For anyone who has given up hope right now, I’ve been there and I’m thinking of you, and I hope that one day soon you’ll get your miracle.

The AFL golden couple tied the knot in January 2020 during a lavish wedding on a private property on the outskirts of Geelong in Victoria.

“We had the day of our lives yesterday with all our loved ones,” Brit told The Herald Sun at the time.

“It was an incredibly magical day filled with love and happiness.”
