AFL CEO Gillon McLachlan slammed after attending lavish Tamie Ingham and Guillaume Brahimi wedding
Call for AFL boss Gillon McLachlan to resign immediately as game is left ‘leaderless’ as he indulges in star-studded Parisian wedding of celebrity chef and heiress
Footy greats have criticized Gillon McLachlan saying the outgoing AFL CEO ‘has to go’ after he left mid-season to attend a lavish wedding in France.
McLachlan was a groomsman for celebrity chef Guillaume Brahimi’s wedding to millionaire chicken heiress Tamie Ingham in Paris. He is also reportedly vacationing in Israel next month.
The star-studded guest list for the glam affair included Lachlan Murdoch and wife Sarah, Karl Stefanovic, chefs Matt Moran and Shannon Bennett, Michael “Wippa” Wipfli, Tom Waterhouse and Erika Packer in what was a who’s who of the A- list of Australia.
The 50-year-old footy boss also attended a lavish pre-wedding dinner with wife Laura, while the happy couple and their guests dined and dined at the exclusive Girafe Paris, a gourmet seafood restaurant with stunning views of the Eiffel Tower.
As the game continues to swing from one controversy to the next – be it over dangerous tackles, the Hawthorn racism investigation or clubs denouncing the lack of communication with headquarters – football legends have said that enough is enough in a devastating game. removal.

“Gillon definitely needs to go now,” Essendon’s Matthew Lloyd said on Channel 9 Footy classified.
“Gillon McLachlan, it’s been too long. No one knows if they are coming or going. He has to go now. [Incoming CEO] Andrew Dillon needs to come in and call the shots.
‘Who tells us [the decisions]? That is the problem. We have no leader.
Brad Scott [ex-AFL head of football] Left eight months ago, Gillon McLachlan has been there for so long and that’s why it’s come to this.’
McLachlan, who replaced his predecessor Andrew Demetriou in 2014, announced in April last year that he would be stepping down, signaling his retirement after that season’s grand finale.
He continued to push that back before finally announcing in May that he would step down at the end of the season to be replaced by longtime AFL employee Andrew Dillon.

Footy legends have called for McLachlan (pictured) to resign immediately over the league’s lack of clarity and communication
Geelong premiership hero Jimmy Bartel said the continued lack of clarity over when he would leave the post – and confused communications with AFL House clubs – was a bone of contention for many in the league.
He joined Lloyd in demanding that Scott’s previous role as head of football be permanently filled as discontent in the league grows.
“The reason you have confusion is a lack of communication,” he said on Footy Classified.
“Go to the clubs, because you are there to serve the clubs. I think sometimes we get that wrong.
“If the head of footy or whatever that role is… visits the clubs, has regular conversations with footy managers and coaches, actually gets on the phone and says, ‘Hey, this is starting to creep in’ (it will to help) .’
