AFL champion Adrian De Luca is selling his prestigious Melbourne Hamptons-style pad for $3 million

A beautiful cottage owned by former AFL star Adrian De Luca has gone under the hammer for an estimated $3 million.

Located in East Brighton, one of Melbourne’s most prestigious suburbs, the classic 1920s family home features five bedrooms and two bathrooms.

According to the Announce sunthe former Carlton star, 41, redeemed the beautifully kept pillow for just over its reserve price of $2.75 million – $2.925 million.

De Luca, who retired from first-class footy in 2006, bought the 663-square-foot property for $1.78 million.

Recent modern updates have maintained the integrity of the classic Hamptons inspired charmer.

Highlights include a leaded-light entrance, ornate ceiling elements, oak floors and plantation shutters.

There is also a gas fireplace and a lovely paved entertaining deck with a solar heated pool.

The master bedroom has a custom walk-in closet and an en-suite bathroom features terrazzo tiles.

Other features include an oversized kitchen with stone countertops, which opens onto an elegantly designed backyard and garden.

De Luca, who made his AFL debut in 2004, is best known for playing for the Carlton football club.

He played 46 games for the side before retiring, and later worked for St Kilda football club as head of finance.

The former forward currently serves as the chief financial officer of the National Basketball League (NBL).
