Hawthorn AFL champion Brent Guerra puts his Bayside home up for auction with a price tag of $1 million

AFL Premier Brent Guerra has put his Melbourne home up for auction.

Located in Highett, 18km from the CBD, the single-storey brick house will go up for auction on February 9 with a price guide of $1.02m to $1.085m.

The retired Hawthorn star, 40, bought the three-bedroom, two-bathroom cottage in 2003, reports the herald sun.

The AFL’s first player, Brent Guerra, has put his Melbourne home up for auction.

Over the years, Guerra has invested in renovations to her Bayside area home, including upgrades to the kitchen and living room.

The soccer star recently completed some new landscaping work in the yard and also put up a new rug in preparation for sale.

Additional highlights include a rear patio entertainment deck, which is surrounded by a well-manicured garden and shaded by tall palm trees.

Located minutes from the coast, the home features hardwood floors and an open-plan layout with plenty of living space.

The generously spaced kitchen features stone countertops and a breakfast island.

Meanwhile, the layout envisions a media room with an adjoining dining room.

Other highlights include a rose garden and a charming white fence.

Starting his first-class football career with Port Adelaide in 2000, Guerra went on to play for St Kilda before switching to Hawthorn in the 2006 draft.

He retired in 2013, announcing he would hang up his boots just after the Hawks won the AFL premiership.
