Afghanistan Gold Star father slams Kamala Harris for being ‘responsible’ for her son’s death, three years after 13 soldiers were killed

A Gold Star father is not letting Vice President Kamala Harris off the hook for the death of his son during the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan, three years later, now that Joe Biden has left office.

Steven Nikoui’s son, Lance Cpl. Kareem Nikoui, was killed along with 12 other soldiers by a suicide bomber during the failed withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021.

On Monday, he told DailyMail.com that even though “another year has gone by,” the Gold Star families and members of Congress are the only ones “who continue to fight and question the actions of the Biden/Harris administration.”

Nikoui says he feels a sense of “victory” because Joe Biden is not running for re-election, but he doesn’t believe Harris will bring any more clarity to the Gold Star families’ plight.

Harris, who was “not nominated by the people,” “took responsibility for the evacuation when she said she was the last one in the room,” he continued.

The vice president confirmed that she was the “last person in the room” during the withdrawal from Afghanistan when asked about it by CNN’s Dana Bash in an August 2021 interview.

Speaker Mike Jonson shared a clip of that interview on Monday, calling the 13 troops “heroic.”

Gold Star father Steve Nikoui was removed from President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address for shouting about his son’s death in Afghanistan. He said he was “blessed and humbled” after charges against him were dropped following his arrest for booing

“We honor their memory and will never forget their sacrifice,” the speaker wrote.

Their children were among the 13 Americans and about 170 Afghans killed days later when a suicide bomber detonated an explosive device in August 2021. To date, no Biden administration official has taken responsibility for the loss of life.

Former President Donald Trump visited Arlington National Cemetery on Monday to pay tribute to fallen Americans.

The former president laid a series of wreaths at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier before making a private visit to Section 60, the part of the cemetery where soldiers killed in Afghanistan are buried.

He was accompanied by relatives of several American soldiers killed in a bomb attack at Abbey Gate.

Trump was also accompanied by two Marines who were injured in the attack: Cpl. Kelsee Lainhart, who was paralyzed in the attack and now uses a wheelchair, and Sgt. Tyler Vargas-Andrews, who lost his right arm and left leg.

On Monday, Harris released a statement honoring the fallen soldiers and the more than 100 “innocent Afghans.”

“That day, 13 of our American heroes were lost,” she said in a statement that also named all the Americans who died.

“Today and every day I mourn and honor them. My prayers are with their families and loved ones. My heart breaks for their pain and loss,” she continued.

But when DailyMail.com spoke personally to the families of the 13 service members killed during the failed withdrawal from Afghanistan during the Republican National Convention last month, they said the Biden administration was still ignoring their requests to meet.

The Gold Star families recently spoke exclusively to DailyMail.com at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, minutes before Trump entered the arena on the second night of the convention.

Darin Hoover, who lost his son Taylor Hoover, a 31-year-old Marine Corps sergeant, in the attack, said he wants to make sure “what happened to our children never happens again” by getting Trump re-elected.

“Of course, war is hell and we are going to lose people,” he continued, “but not in the way our children died.”

“I’m here because Trump speaks for me, he speaks for my morals, my beliefs. He speaks the truth,” Taylor’s sister Coral Doolittle told DailyMail.com.

“We’re here to support Trump because we need change. We need someone who cares about veterans, cares about our military, cares about our military families… and we know he’s going to do that for us,” added Kelly Barnett, Taylor’s mother.

“I support Trump because for the last three years, now that my son is gone, we have been reaching out to him, President Joe Biden, and he still hasn’t even returned our calls or asked us to meet with us,” revealed Alicia Lopez, mother of Marine Corporal Hunter Lopez.

She said that in the “almost three years since we’ve lost our children,” President Trump “is the only one who has come to us and asked how we’re doing.”

Her husband Herman Lopez said that “Joe Biden has dropped the ball” and that there is no “confidence” left in his administration.

“We need a leader we can trust,” he continued.

Christy Shamblin, mother-in-law of 23-year-old Sgt. Nicole Gee, told DailyMail.com she supports Trump because he supports “our veterans and members of the armed forces.”

“The current administration has turned its back on them,” but not Trump, she said. He would not allow the Taliban to injure “one hair on the head of an American service member.”

Cheryl Juels, Gee’s aunt, added: “When Trump left, everything went downhill and our children are dead because of it.”

‘He is a strong leader… our enemies are not afraid of us, they are all working together and it is only a matter of time before we end up in a third world war.’

She added that it “didn’t matter to Biden” when their children’s caskets came off the military plane.

Biden faced heavy criticism after video of him as he looks at his watch during the dignified transfer ceremony for fallen soldiers from Afghanistan in Dover, Delaware.

When asked by DailyMail.com about Biden’s horrific debate gaffe that “no service member has died” during his term, Shamblin said he “ignores” the military.

“It didn’t surprise us at all, it’s just another lie he’s spreading,” Jules said.

She called it “disgusting” that the Biden administration was abandoning its allies and partners in Afghanistan during the withdrawal.
