Aerosmith postpones six tour dates after doctors sideline singer Steven Tyler for 30 days after sustaining vocal cord damage during the group’s final tour

Just over a week after embarking on the group’s final tour, Aerosmith has been forced to postpone six dates of their Peace Out: The Farewell Tour.

The group announced on Instagram that their shows are in Toronto (originally scheduled for September 12), Chicago (September 15), Detroit (September 18), Cleveland (September 21), Raleigh (September 24) and Washington DC (September 27). postponed until early 2024.

Singer Steven Tyler – whose daughter recently escaped the fires in Maui – explained in the post that doctors have ordered him not to sing for the next 30 days, leading to a postponement.

The rescheduled dates are Monday, January 29, 2024 – Detroit, MI – Little Caesars Arena, Wednesday, February 14, 2024 – Chicago, IL – United Center, Saturday, February 17, 2024 – Washington, DC – Capital One Arena, Wednesday, February 21, 2024 – Toronto, ON – Scotiabank Arena, Monday, February 26, 2024 – Raleigh. NC – PNC Arena and Thursday, February 29, 2024 – Cleveland, OH – Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.

Tyler also made a brief statement, revealing that the postponement was due to him suffering damage to his vocal cords during the tour.

“It saddens me to say that I have been given strict doctor’s orders not to sing for the next thirty days,” Tyler began.

“During Saturday’s show I suffered damage to my vocal cords that led to bleeding,” Tyler added, referring to the Elmont, New York show at the UBS Arena.

“We will have to postpone a few dates so we can come back and give you the performance you deserve,” he concluded in his statement.

The group added: “All previously purchased tickets will be honored for the rescheduled dates. Refunds will be made for those who are unable to attend. Fans with questions regarding refunds are asked to contact their point of purchase.”

The group announced their farewell tour on May 1, a 40-date tour that began in Philadelphia on September 2 and was initially scheduled to end in Montreal on January 26 before the six shows were postponed.

‘PEACE OUT! After 50 years, 10 world tours and playing to over 100 million fans… It’s time for one last time!’ the group said in their tour announcement on Instagram, revealing that their “special guest” will be The Black Crowes.

“Fans will see one of the most important American rock bands in history one last time on this unmissable final tour,” the group said.

“Each night we celebrate Aerosmith’s five decades of groundbreaking hits as they celebrate 50 years as America’s greatest rock band. In addition, THX is releasing their THX Certified Live! high-fidelity experience on the go, with each arena calibrated with cutting-edge technology so fans don’t miss a beat of Aerosmith’s classic rock songs in quality audio,” the post continued/

The tour kicks off exactly one month after Monday, October 11 with the previously scheduled stop at Amalie Arena in Tampa.

The group also announced their Greatest Hits album in June, which was released on August 18.

The Greatest Hits album was also released in a Super Deluxe Limited Edition, which “features 44 songs from Aerosmith’s five-decade career on 180-gram custom color vinyl for the first time ever,” featuring hits such as Dream On, Walk This Way, Zoete Emotion, Crazy, Crying, I don’t want to miss anything and much more!
