Adorable pup with wonky face is compared to Picasso masterpiece – and his unique look has earned him celebrity fans
A cute dog with a wonky face has been compared to a Picasso masterpiece – and his unique look has won him a legion of fans.
Rescue puppy Brodie, five, was bitten by his mother as a puppy and left partially blind in one eye with a disfigured face.
But Amanda Richter, 34, immediately fell in love with the German Shepherd mix.
She thought it was ‘perfect’, but admits it looks a bit like ‘a Picasso masterpiece’.
Pablo Picasso was one of the most influential artists of the 20th century, focusing largely on abstract sculpture and surrealism in his paintings.
Ms. Richter, a photographer from British Columbia, Canada, said, “HHe’s a feisty guy. He makes me laugh. He is a bundle of energy and carefree.
‘I often get the comment that he looks a lot like a cartoon dog we drew as a child. He’s not perfect, but he’s still loved.
‘It’s not about what’s on the outside. That dog has the biggest heart.

“He’s perfect for me.”
The photographer knew she had to adopt Brodie as soon as she saw a social media post about him at the Old MacDonald Kennels in Alberta.
She said the puppy, whose jaw is partially fused shut, has “no idea” he is different.
“He’s full of life,” Ms. Richter said. ‘He wants to play all the time.
“He’s also very smart.”
The dog lover started sharing photos of Brodie on Instagram – and one of her followers sent her the profile of a rescue dog who bore an uncanny resemblance to him.
She said, “They’re soulmates.”
Three-year-old Raven, a Husky/German Shepherd mix, joined the family in February 2022 after being rescued by Fuzzy Texan Animal Rescue.

Mrs Richter said: ‘Brodie was initially terrified of Raven. Raven came from an abusive home. She was terrified when I got her.
‘Eventually they warmed up to each other. Now they are inseparable.’
Brodie’s social media prowess has also earned him a number of famous followers, including actress Amanda Seyfried, singer Leona Lewis and Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law Lara Trump.
The photographer finds this ‘hilarious’.
But she hopes sharing Brodie with the world will encourage others to save dogs that aren’t “perfect.”
She said, “It’s okay not to be perfect.
